A newly single Leona Lewis has reportedly called off her upcoming plans to tour in Australia, Asia, and Europe as she is “heartbroken” over her breakup with longtime beau Lou Al-Chamma.
An insider told a British tabloid that the “Bleeding Love” singer will instead head into the studio to put her anguish into a new album.
She was recently spotted heading into the studio with hit-maker Dallas Austin. The two are reportedly collaborating on Lewis’ third studio album, a re-release of “Echo,” which is set for a Christmas release.
“Leona’s heart just wasn’t in the tour towards the end of the U.K. leg,” the source told the Sunday Mirror. “She was upset, teary and heartbroken over her split with Lou. She’d been with him for 10 years.”
Back in June, “The X-Factor” winner and her childhood sweetheart Al-Chamma decided to part ways. The singer’s busy schedule and British tour were rumored to be key factors behind split.
Lewis was set to make her U.S. tour debut this summer as an opening act for Christina Aguilera. But, those plans were also scrapped as Aguilera announced in May that she was postponing her 20-date “Bionic” tour to an unspecified time in 2011.

Is somebody out to get Leona Lewis?
Just last year, the 25-year-old British “Bleeding Love” singer suffered facial injuries after being headbutted by her horse. Then she was punched in the face by a male fan at her October book signing.
Then last Friday, Lewis plummeted down an elevator shaft while performing in Sheffield, England.
Outrageous as it sounds, a rep at Lewis’s J Records label confirms that the incident did indeed occur during the first night of the star’s UK tour. Lewis later told The Sun newspaper, “We have been having problems with the lift. It had been going fine in rehearsals and then I had a bit of an accident and fell down the lift shaft.”
The problem was that the elevator had gotten stuck, causing the “X-Factor” winner to tumble into an empty hole. “I was lucky not to get injured,” Lewis told The Sun. “Fortunately it happened during a blackout on set and didn’t affect the show and none of the audience saw anything.”
Perhaps she better start keeping an eye out for ACME anvils falling from the sky.

BMG Rights Management has signed an exclusive publishing agreement to represent singer Leona Lewis.
Deal covers Lewis’ future songwriting, as well as her songs from her sophomore album “Echo.”
“Leona is a staggering musical talent, going from strength to strength as her songwriting develops. We’re thrilled to be working with her and her management team,” said Tony Moss, Managing Director BMG Rights Management U.K.
Said Lewis, “I’m so pleased to be working with BMG, I’m really excited about working together and the future.”
Lewis gained mainstream recognition after winning the third season of “X Factor” in 2006, after which she was signed to a five-album, $9.7 mil deal with Clive Davis’ J Records.
Her debut single “A Moment Like This” (a cover of the track originally recorded by Kelly Clarkson, which was written by Jrgen Elofsson and John Reid) became the fastest selling U.K. single after being downloaded over 50,000 times within 30 minutes of its release. Her second single, “Bleeding Love”, reached number one positions in over 30 singles charts around the world. Lewis became the first British solo artist to top the Billboard 200 with her debut album “Spirit,” which has sold over 6.5 million copies worldwide.
Lewis’ second album “Echo,” released in November 2009, has gone double platinum in the U.K. The album debuted at number 13 in the U.S. with sales of 68,413, but in the second week sales fell by 68% to just 21,431. Worldwide, it has sold over 1 million copies. The first single from this album, “Happy,” was written by Lewis, together with songwriters Ryan Tedder (who wrote “Bleeding Love”) and Evan Bogart and produced by Tedder.
Lewis also recently recorded “I See You,” the theme song for James Cameron’s “Avatar.” Track was nominated for Best Original Song at the 67th Golden Globe Awards.
Currently, Lewis and her management are preparing for her first world tour scheduled to starting later in the year.

Kings Of Leon have denied that they are set to record with Leona Lewis, despite some reports alluding to a possible collaboration.
It was claimed that the Followill clan were going to join the former X Factor winner in the studio because they were “big fans” of the singer. It was also claimed that Lewis will be working with Robbie Williams.
However, drummer Nathan Followill has denied the claim.
“Contrary to reports out there Kings Of Leon are not writing or recording with Leona Lewis,” he wrote this afternoon (January 6) on Twitter.
The band are currently taking time off after touring extensively last year.

The success of Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” not only made the British-born singer an international star last year — it also helped her branch out and toughen up.
“I’m quite a sensitive person and I’m quite introvert, but I’ve learned that I’m stronger than I thought and I can take more than I thought I can. Sometimes I have to push myself, but like I am definitely stronger than I thought I was,” the 24-year-old says.
Lewis says that newfound strength is all over her sophomore CD, “Echo,” out on Tuesday.
“I think the songs are very epic,” she says of the disc, which features collaborations with Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, Max Martin and Ryan Tedder, who produced the first single, “Happy.”
In a recent interview, the singer talked about gaining confidence, her fans and the inspirations behind “Echo.”

He may be PEOPLE’s reigning Hottest Bachelor, but Chace Crawford doesn’t stand a chance with Leona Lewis.
The singer says she turned down a chance to smooch the Gossip Girl hunk when he appeared in her latest video because she thought it would make her beau, Lou Al-Chamaa, jealous.
“They wanted me and Chace to kiss in the ‘I Will Be’ video. But I said no way,” she tells U.K magazine Sugar.
That doesn’t mean Lewis, whose new album Happy is out Nov. 17, is not an admirer of Crawford – he’s just not her type. “He needs roughing up a bit! He’d be a really pretty girl … He’s so beautiful, I mean, look at him,” she says. “But I just don’t think of him like that. And it wouldn’t be fair to Lou to kiss other guys.”
Lewis, 24, has been with her boyfriend since she was 17, but the two met way before that. She tells the magazine that at age 10, she already thought her neighbor, Al-Chamaa, was “sooo cute.”
She still does. The singer, who recently defended her relationship with the electrician, says she loves his eyes, and teases: “Sometimes I’ll look at him and be like, ‘You have really nice eyelashes, can I put mascara on them?’ ”
Maybe having his girlfriend kiss Crawford wouldn’t be so bad after all.

British singer Leona Lewis has reacted with dismay to some of the media chatter about the fact that she is still dating the same boyfriend she had before she found fame.
Lewis, 24, has been with electrician Lou Al-Chamaa since she was 17 and calls him her “best friend” in a new interview.
When she was asked about the “snide bewilderment” that accompanies references to their enduring love, she says, “It does make me angry. Because he’s a great person. And it doesn’t matter what you do in life, what your job is, where you come from.”
Speaking to The Observer, she says, “This is real life, it isn’t make believe. For people to think that you should leave someone because, all of a sudden, you’re a singer and you have opportunities. I feel very sorry for them.”
Lewis, who shot to fame on the British talent show The X Factor, still lives in the gritty area of Hackney, east London, where she grew up and says she stays grounded by surrounding herself with people she has known for years.
“All my friends I’ve known since I was really little. It’s not that I don’t let new people in,” she says in the interview, “but I do feel safe with people that really know me, who know who I am.”
Lewis was talking to promote her book Dreams – copies of which she was signing when she was punched by a fan earlier this month. A man has since been charged and will appear in court on Monday.
